¡Siempre
Adelante!
In quite a literal sense, San Buenaventura Mission’s venerable Holy
Cross School has taken Father Serra’s revered advice,¡Siempre
Adelante! -- always go forward – about as far as it can.
Originally a four-classroom structure, it has "gone forward," once
in 1925 with the addition of classrooms and again in 1949, when subsequent
expansion brought it out to the sidewalk of Main Street with no space
left for it to be exteneded farther.
Once again the watchword is ¡Siempre Adelante! , but this time
in the context of going forward with the financing and construction,
on Mission
premises, of a new 3-story school building as well as an adjoining Multi-Purpose
Center, which will serve both school and parish. Presented here is a
scale model of the Holy Cross School/Multi-Purpose Building complex,
prepared
by the architects.
