“La Recua”

“La Recua” (The mule packtrain) is a muleback journey of more than 300 km on the Old Camino Real along the arid landscape of the Baja California Peninsula. On the journey, Dario Higuera brings to life history and shares with Azucena and Ramoncito, two young muleters, the ancient knowledge necessary to inhabit the desert in an adventure that seems taken out of distant times. As we witness the challenges they encounter, their journey makes us question the sanity of our frenzy modern life.

“La Recua” es un viaje en el lomo de la mula de más de 300 km por el Viejo Camino Real a lo largo del árido paisaje de la península de Baja California. Durante el viaje, Darío Higuera revive la historia y comparte con Azucena y Ramoncito, dos jóvenes arrieros, el conocimiento ancestral necesario para habitar el desierto en una aventura que parece sacada de tiempos remotos. Al presenciar los desafíos que enfrentan, su viaje nos hace cuestionar la cordura de nuestra frenética vida moderna.

First Sunday Food Drive
Each First Sunday of the month the Mission parishioners are requested to donate at least one item of canned food or dry food products to supply the Catholic Charities Food Pantry. Collection bins are located just inside the Mission Church doors.
