A Prayer of Thanksgiving

We join the church in mourning the death of Pope Francis.
Pray with us in thanksgiving for the life and legacy of our beloved shepherd:

Loving God,
we give you thanks for the life and ministry of Pope Francis.

In him you gave us a man of humility,
one who valued listening to the voices of the voiceless,
compassion for the undervalued,
mercy for sinners and justice for the oppressed.

You gave us a pastor
who led through the example of his love
for your people and your creation,
who was not ashamed to smell like his sheep.

Comfort all who mourn his passing,
and may the angels now lead him to paradise with you
to rest in your peace for eternity.

May your Spirit guide the future successor to your servant Francis
to continue the work you have begun through him,
for the good of the Church and the world.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Oración de Acción de Gracias

Nos unimos a la Iglesia en el duelo por la muerte del Papa Francisco.

Oren con nosotros en acción de gracias por la vida y el legado de nuestro amado pastor:

Dios de amor,

te damos gracias por la vida y el ministerio del Papa Francisco.

En él nos diste un hombre humilde,

quien valoró escuchar las voces de los que no tienen voz,

compasión por los desfavorecidos,

misericordia por los pecadores y justicia para los oprimidos.

Nos diste un pastor

que lideró con el ejemplo de su amor

por tu pueblo y tu creación,

que no se avergonzó de oler como sus ovejas.

Consuela a todos los que lloran su partida,

y que los ángeles lo conduzcan al paraíso contigo

para que descanse en tu paz por la eternidad.

Que tu Espíritu guíe al futuro sucesor de tu siervo Francisco

para continuar la obra que has comenzado a través de él,

por el bien de la Iglesia y del mundo.
